Chinese antique lamps Cinnabar

The long history of Chinese culture has been a large number of original and distinctive art styles. One of them is "Cinnabar Lacquer. Quickly recognized by its characteristic red color and sometimes called "Red China". This treatment has been used artistically in China for more than 1000 years.

Lacquer refers to any facade that has been coated with lacquer, resulting in a hard and durable. The natural source of lacquer is a tree, lake, or varnish tree, the sap is collected in the same way as the sap of rubber trees, small cuts made in the trunk of the tree and the sap collected. The name "Vermilion", however, is derived from natural red mineral pigment that is mixed with tree sap Lac after which occurs rich, red lacquer

The initial stage in the production of goods cinnabar lacquer starts with the first coat of red lacquer, so the first layer can be the first of hundreds of coats to go! Each layer is given time to dry before the next, until desired thickness is achieved red lacquer.
