Amazing Photos of flaws or inclusions found in stones!

I'm sure everyone appreciate and emptying snuff bottles Chinese antique stone, once manipulated, as beautiful and pure forms of the stones used simply can not fail to impress. One could imagine that the approach would have been to avoid inclusions or flaws, and to form the bottle only the best parts of stone. This is often the case. But what I find even more fascinating is the amazing way bright deliberately took advantage of the natural flaws and inclusions often present in these rocks.

Majority of quartz and jade stones have an outer layer of a different color, in particular, the stones of the beds rivers. They also have flaws and faults, most colored material, often deep into the stone. Sometimes, the skin can be very thin, like inclusions, while other sectors are large.

When you consider that nobody knows exactly what is inside any of these rocks, until, as the cuts are made and the secrets of the stone is revealed, they discover how pure or otherwise, the stone really is. It is with stones that have inclusions or flaws' Image Agate snuff bottles' are made. The best of these incredible bottles, once completed, are allowing the inclusion, which forms the image, it looks as if it appeared in the right place, as if to order!

There are different types of work within this group of snuff bottles and the former are what we call 'Cameo sizes. These take advantage of any outer skin or the type of stain of inclusion (of a different color) because it can be quite thick and are carved in relief. Another type is called "Shadow Agates and take advantage of these marks on the rock where, with the help of just a little height creates an image. Finally, the most fascinating are called "Silhouette Agates' but in this group does not show the size needed. The image is achieved mainly by the angle and the choice of form, and the size and position of the bottle formed from the rock to which the inclusion becomes an image. These bottles must be seen to be believed.

What is really shocking to me is the fact that there are even some of these bottles with pictures of both sides!

Unfortunately, some of them were signed. We only know that there was a certain school of carvers known as the "School of Suzhou. His works are easily recognizable by the style and quality of the carving, plus the fact that use of each mark on the stone to form the image. The bottles are amazing good, but many later works, which tend to seem too rigid and does not have the size the more fluid artistic flair of master carvers. Unfortunately, almost none of these bottles are very well hollowed.

Our first Chinese Snuff Bottle

So to describe my first purchase was a 'Shadow Agate bottle photo involving a small size, and very well hollowed. It is a most appropriate theme and color of a bottle of snuff because of the reddish inclusions have been used to display 'Ho-Shang Putai. He always is represented as a big man with a bare chest and abdomen and is the patron saint of tobacconists. In this bottle seems surprised by a bat, while sitting under sheets of snuff. The bat for the Chinese is a symbol of good luck. You can see the ease with which it appears, very well located within the bottle however, only the head and a tip of the hand have been carved. Now has a number of "Picture Agates and to illustrate the different types described, the photograph of the duck with the fungus Ganoderma lucidum in the bill is a good example" Silhouette ". Indeed, the fungus is a symbol for wishing long life. This bottle is very unusual as there is a recess carved originally to create the image that serves as a construction at the plate. Finally, a superb bottle of fish with pictures of both sides: the pair of fish on one side are the "Cameo" carved and Chinese represent fidelity and happy conjugal rights in marriage. On the other side a fish and aquatic plants that make use of each mark in the stone, all in a shapely bottle is very well hollowed. All of these sample bottles were made between 1750 and 1860. Assessment

To judge effectively snuff bottles hard rock, the first consideration should be concerned with the overall artistic impression. You have to be convinced that the work is well composed and well positioned, and that the images formed are flowing and not stiff and awkward. The next step is to have a closer look at technical skills. When I look at a cameo type Study size shape and finish of the background, near the edge of the carving. The poorest bottles that can be cut, uneven and not as polished as the rest. Really Good examples seems as if part of Cameo raised somehow been stuck on a bottle well formed. Labor recorded its best is very precise and provides the details. Al look closely (increasing) in a poor bottle recorded these pieces can be quite crude.
