Everyone dreams of finding something in an attic, garage sale or flea market that turns out to be valuable. That something may be a stock certificate which remains valid for the property in an enterprise. If you're going to find one that surely must be researched (just in case.) But unfortunately, that rarely happens. Without yet it might be something like a collector item. This article describes the value of a collector of antique stock certificates.

Ultimately, of course, what makes a stock certificate is valuable collection of someone willing to buy at a special price. The more people they want more worthwhile. Such is the demand of supply and demand.
But what about the supply side - the certificates? The following are some of the characteristics the supply of certificates that help create more value.

1. Aesthetic —
It is beautiful, powerful, soothing, impressive, memorable, joyful, enjoyable, fun? Would I like? Is it "me?" You will find all these emotions of the viewer. That is what art is good if not - it evokes emotions. Here are some of the decorative stock certificates that most people appreciate:

• The bullet (s). One or more of These photos can be found in most of the licenses. Bullets are usually made from original etchings and cover many different subjects and scenes. Many are so detailed that can show a broad and complex picture of the harbor, a busy western city or the individual feathers on an American bald eagle.
• The border. Borders are often quite ornate and "framework" of the certificate. They can be printed in intaglio, which results in an accurate 3-D effect. Some may have more tissue Bullets in the design or interlaced filigree.
• Writing. In the old days, the certificates were filled by hand. During this period, a beautiful hand-written is a source of pride, so older documents sometimes seems practiced calligraphy samples.
• Extras. Certificates can have one or more of the following: a company seal (relief), income or transfer stamps (stuck in the front or back), redemption coupons (interest or dividend payments) enclosed a check (similar to a check stub from registration) under the impression (a design of light appears at the bottom), color tone using sophisticated (gradients, realism, dimensions).
• Printing. It goes back to the emotions evoked. The certificate of the general strike you? Are you would be proud to own or display?

2. Signatures —
This is similar to "writing", but this is special. Who wrote? Original, handwritten signatures of the well-known (Rockefeller, Houdini, Edison, Disney …) are usually in high demand. Even his signature can be printed greater value because it is a document of an organization they were affiliated to a certain time in history. If research on the names of the certificates, are fascinating stories behind them that you probably never learned in history class.

3. Shortage —
This is trickier than it seems. In general, the rare is the document that is most valuable, but not always. Take railroad certificates. There are relatively many of them. There are many people who try to cover items in the collection (geographical company line, variety, viñeta …). Therefore, subject of a certificate may have more samples available than another, but even more valuable because the demand is greatest.

4. Condition —
Most often, as with any collection, the best way for a certificate, the most valuable. Very often old certificates show some signs of aging and wear (creases sometimes fainting, rough edges, cancellation or marks of beating …). After all, how you look after 150 years? But defacing excessive (heavy stains, cracks, holes, tears …) decrease the value.

5. Age —
In general, older the better. Early certificates are often less common, have more character, with interesting vignettes and historical significance.

6. History —
Each stock certificate old is literally a unique piece of history. Many amateur collectors to become history in the process of investigation people and stories behind their certificates. Information about how towns were named, the peculiar way newspaper stories were written makes long time, why mining labor conflicts, such as railroads became the arteries and veins of America, the trials and joys Old West life, inventor crazy ideas that calved large industries, and much more.

Thus, these six features stock certificate that create value. Add in the fact that in general there is a limited supply of old stock certificates and now a growing demand, and has a nice supply and demand hypothesis - which is like an increase in value. (Disclaimer: No one should promote stock certificates as an investment. You must pick up because you like to do, and if, by chance increase in value, which only makes it more fun.)

Others (the collection of antique stock certificates), only got its name and a large recognition as a legitimate pick some forty years ago. So while there are plenty of high-value certificates, there are more that are very affordable. Enjoy them.
